I had to do a special post today about our sweet daughter, Sadie.

She marches to her own beat on her own drum...
And she absolutely cracks me up everyday!

Sometimes her outfits just make me stop and say, "Wow!"
This is how she chose to play outside this morning

And a side shot of the infamous "hanger head"

She loves to play in the mud, catch bugs, kill ants....anything that is dirty and fun!

You will very rarely see her being 'girly'

Yes, our sweet Sadie is a child all her own and she keeps us on our tiptoes everyday!

It kind of reminds me of this guy I married......hmmm...wonder if that is just a coincidence?

Kite Flyin'

On Sunday we took the girls to the park to try out some kite flying.  What a perfect way to have the girls run off tons of energy!

Sadie was quite the kite flyer...

After approximately 43 failed attempts, approximately 43 emotional meltdowns, and a mini-coaching session....

Brynn had some success!!

It was a beautiful day and the girls had a blast. Justin captured some great shots of the girls

This one was taken after emotional meltdown #28

And this pretty much sums up Sadie all the time

I mean....who else plays the Wii with a hanger on her head...

I'm just sayin'....

The Girls

Here are the girls in the spring outfits from Ginny.  I didn't get the picture I wanted so we will be doing a 'photo shoot' soon to get some good ones.  We were on the way out the door to church and so this was very spur of the moment.  It is crazy to me how tall Sadie is!!  I haven't seen anyone her age who even comes close to being her height.  Her long, lanky legs are absolutely adorable!!  I give her a few months and she will have passed Brynn.

Maybe we have a basketball star on our hands.....

Random Road Trip

This weekend we went on quite a road trip........with NO KIDS!!

Friday morning we woke up and headed down towards Austin to visit a friend of mine who is building a new Chick-fil-A in Kyle.  We checked out the construction and then went down to San Marcos to shop at the outlet mall for a little bit.  The best part of all of this was that it was totally spur of the moment.  We originally were just going straight to Houston but once we were on the road we decided to mix it up a bit!

Once we made it to Houston we hung out with a friend of mine, Darlene, who is opening a CFA in downtown Houston at Houston Center.  It is set to open up on Wednesday and things were moving along nicely.

Darlene and I at Chuy's (awesome food)

The really cool part was that her apartment is right, smack, dab in the middle of downtown Houston!

Here is the view from her bedroom

We were able to walk down to Pete's Piano Bar and hang out for a little while.

On the way home we decided to pick a different route home and we stopped in Temple to visit with my friend from college, Chana.  I hadn't seen her in forever and her kids were absolutely adorable.  I didn't take any pics!!

It was so wonderful to get away for a weekend and have absolutely NO plan.

And then we came home to reality.....BOOOOOOO!

Golfing with the Folks

Mom and Dad took us all to play miniature golf Tuesday night and we had a blast!

The girls mainly preferred to dance around the entire place!

But then they got serious....

We had to have some coaching lessons..

And then we were good to go....

Thanks Mom and Dad!!

We had more birthday fun for Brynn at Justin's parents house.  She was so excited to get the whole Zhu-Zhu pet city and all new "Hello Kitty" stuff for her bedroom in Brownwood.

Nanny came over for dinner and the girls insisted that everyone wear a hat!?!?

And then came Easter!  For some reason this new Blogger is acting possessed and putting things where it wants to, so if things seem a little jumbled it's not me.....promise!

Even though my kids play outside looking like this:
