School Updates

Thought I would give you an update on how life is around here:

Brynn: LOVES, LOVES, LOVES school and everything about it.  She is friends with EVERYONE and we have even had a boyfriend for one whole day!  I can't believe how young that stuff starts!  She said there were even two kids that got caught kissing!  It's freaking kindergarten!  Wow....I am not ready for that.  We talked and decided that we would just be friends with people for a long time and boyfriends were gross.

Sadie:  She actually likes school but her favorite part is naptime.  She tells everyone this and that's all she talks about in the mornings.  She loves her teacher but still doesn't really talk to any of the kids in her class.  I asked if they talked to her and she said yes.  I asked what she said to them and she said, "I say don't talk to me I am not your friend."  So, we had a little discussion on manners and being nice.  I don't quite know if it sunk in so who knows.

Justin and I: We thought that we would absolutely KILL each other working together every day but it actually is quite awesome.  It is so comforting to know that there is one person there that has my back 100%.  We enjoy working together and now I can't imagine not seeing him all day!  It goes pretty smoothly and the day seems to fly by.  The store was settling down but then football season kicked off and we are selling sandwiches as fast as we can make them!!  Guess that's a good thing, but it is a lot of work.

There is the Leach Familia update!

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school for my babies!

Sadie started at Victory Life Academy in Preschool.

It took us awhile to convince her that she would love the uniform....but now she gets so excited to wear it!  I am sure that will change soon.  She wasn't too sure about the whole thing and when I asked her what she was most looking forward to, she replied, "Naptime."  Yeah....that pretty much sums up her outlook on the whole day.

Brynn started Kindergarten at Early Primary.  Excited does not begin to cover how ready she was.  She could hardly contain herself all morning.

Sadie was the first one dropped off.  I was expecting a huge breakdown, but she was so excited that they had toys and quickly found the vacuum cleaner and hammer.  After that, life was good.

The teacher came over and put a nametag on her and she smiled and said, "thanks" but then turned to me and said, "I do not want this sticker on me."

I convinced her the sticker was okay and then we left with no problems whatsoever.

Next was Brynn.

Go Early Longhorns!!

She didn't shut up from Sadie's school all the way to her class.  She rambled on and on about how excited she was and all the neat things she was going to do.

I on the other hand...began to not do so well.  We found her desk and got everything situated and then I began to tear up.  Luckily, the teacher had a little 'gift' for all of the parents that was a little bag of kleenex, candy, and a sweet poem she had wrote.  I looked at Justin and he was starting to not do so well, so we both basically ran out hardly even saying bye.

This picture will forever be etched in my mind.

There is silence in my house right now....

It is 10:24am and I am still in my PJ's watching "The View."

No kids, no husband, no store, no shower!

I told Justin last week that while the kids were at my parents, I am taking one day completely off and I would not like his company on this fabulous day off!

The kids are coming back today and we will be celebrating Sadie's 4th birthday!!  I am smelling the chocolate cake in the oven right now and realizing how blessed I truly am.

The store is stressful....I work A LOT....I haven't gotten to see my kids as much as I would like....I get frustrated with employees often.....BUT I am blessed beyond measure!

Last night and the night before, Justin and I went fishing late at night.  Just sitting in the silence with him (silence was not my choice by the way) made me realize how blessed we really are.

So, I am going to go enjoy my fabulous day and will update with all the birthday pics later!!

Always, Sometimes, Never

I stole this from Kristin's blog and thought it was a pretty cute idea!

read TMZ each day to catch up on the celebrity gossip (don't judge!)
listen to Kidd Kraddick in the morning....I am addicted to them!
open all of the blinds/curtains if I am home....I love a bright house
sleep with two for my head and one to hold against my chest
bite my nails....always have and always will.  I cannot quit!!! I wish I had pretty hands!

act like I don't see people in stores because I don't feel like talking .....rude I know
floss my teeth....I used to be so good about doing it everyday but I have slacked off...gross I know
wish I had another baby...but then my children act like demons and I quickly snap back to reality
eat breakfast....maybe once a week.  Other than that I just wait until lunch
drive the 15 miles home in radio...nothing.  I enjoy the thinking time.

sleep on my back....who can do that?!?!  ugh..
drink coffee....I can't even stand the smell of it
get pedicures...I think I have had one maybe two in my entire life
sleep through the entire night....I wake up several times and lay there and think
miss a season of Real World/Road Rules challenge on MTV.....yes I realize I am 30

As I was sitting here tonight I began thinking...

Dangerous I know...

I just can't imagine NOT being married to my best friend.  Yeah, random I know.  I can't believe that we both honestly want to be around each other all the time.  Okay...well maybe not ALL the time.

I just thank God for giving me a husband who is funny, caring, passionate, and my very best friend.  It's so comforting to know that no matter what comes or goes in our life, we are perfectly content being home together and doing nothing at all.

And then I had to grab some photos because we all know that blogs are no fun without pictures.

But I didn't want mushy, lovey pictures.

Like the time he wanted to build our Yorkie a doghouse and it turned into this..

It was HUGE and we couldn't fit it in the backyard so we had to call our friend Ryan and Jacinta over to help us get it over the fence!  Awesome!!!

Or our lovely Christmas picture

I really wanted that one to make the Christmas card.

Or the time that Justin promised the girls that if they ate good that the CFA cow would come visit after their bath.  So, while I am bathing the girls, Justin gets the costume out of my car, got dressed up, and entertained them in the living room.

Yeah, he's a pretty neat guy!
I just feel blessed to know that I have a partner for life that blesses me everyday with unconditional love.

Good night everyone!

Kleenex please!

I am finally on the homestretch of going through all the pictures.  Whew.....

It hit me yesterday that Brynn will be starting Kindergarten soon.  I still can vividly remember my first day of school and how I was so happy to wear my new dress and get my picture taken.  These days with Brynn make me wonder if these will be days she remembers thirty years from now.

If not, I will happily remind her of how wonderful she makes my life.

I pray that she walks into school on that first day and feels like she is "Queen of the World!"  Kids are mean and I pray that she feels secure and strong in who she is as a child of God.  She is perfect in his sight (and mine) and I hope she always has the confidence of a princess.

Okay, now that I have officially made myself cry....we will move on to other subjects.  Yes, I will probably digress back to my "first day of school emotional breakdown" for the next few weeks, so just bear with me people!!

Onto our friends out here.  These are the blasted turkeys that I referred to on Facebook.  They were blocking the road on my first day at the store and I couldn't get them to move!!  I saw them every morning for about a month and so I think of them as friends...not Thanksgiving.

And I don't think of deer meat at all when I think of these cuties!!

We were riding on the gator when we saw a little fawn and Justin said,
 "Look Brynn!  A baby deer!"
Brynn says, "Is he still alive"
Dad: "Yes"
Brynn: "Then shoot him daddy!!"

They grow up way too fast!!

Trying to sort through over 300 pictures is a time consuming process!  I would love to tell all the fun stories of these pictures, but that would be a little much.  So, I will share the pics and you just tell yourself a really cute and funny story that goes along with it.

I couldn't pass up another makeover picture

More fun friends:  (these suckers are EVERYWHERE)

Part of the hayfield in front of our house

And after it is all ready to go, we like to refer to this as bales of money!!

Beautiful blue sky again

Sometimes us country folk actually do play in the rain WITH clothes on

Brynn: 5 years old and READY to go to Kindergarten at Early Primary.  She wants a Hello Kitty backpack and lunch box (please let me know if you see one somewhere because I have yet to find one).

Sadie: 3 years old (4 on August 20) and not too sure about starting Preschool at Victory Life Academy.  She wants a Cars Thomas the Train Hello Kitty backpack......really she doesn't give a rip about the backpack-she would rather just play outside.

I hope that is enough randomness for ya!  I am going to go enjoy a lazy Sunday now!

I'm baaaack

Welcome to 2010 Leach Family!!

We FINALLY have internet!  After two months of trying to read blogs on my iPhone, Justin finally gave in to my begging.  We had to get satellite internet, which actually hasn't been that bad.  It's pretty fast and hey-it's better than nothing.

Quick update on us:  The store is doing much better.  When we took over most all of the employees were new and so there was A LOT of training that had to take place.  The store also had dozens of MUCH needed repairs.  We tackled the training issue by hauling the kids of to grandparents and Justin and I tag teaming the issues.  It is such a blessing to have Justin working side-by-side with me.  We didn't think it would work because we are both so hard-headed but it has been great.  We understand each other's stresses and frustrations and it helps to have someone on your side.  We also hired a trainer from San Angelo to come down for a couple of weeks and really help us on all of the issues.  The repairs have been an ongoing issue so corporate has decided to send a general contractor in to access the problems and work up a bid on fixing everything!  That was a HUGE blessing.  All in all things are settling down and we are finally getting to relax a little and enjoy everything!

The house is going great and I am actually enjoying living in the country (aside from the whole internet issue).  I mean it's 9:18 and Brynn JUST woke up and Sadie and still asleep.  Yeah, quiet country life has its perks!!!  The girls have played outside more in the last two months then they have their entire life!!

I won't go too crazy on the pictures just yet (I did have 328 on my camera) so I will share in little spurts.

We have some friends out here

That part I'm not a big fan of, but I will share other pictures of other friends later that are much nicer.

I have enjoyed this summer so much, just spending time with the girls.  They got some makeup from Ginny Pearl and gave each other little makeovers.

Also, we have been in the hay business lately.  The girls think that is pretty cool to watch!!

Well, sometimes.....

I really do think the sky is bluer out here....(this is straight out of the photoshop).  I wish there was some way to capture the brightness of the stars out here....

All in all .....we are alive and well and are truly blessed.

I mean....what kid doesn't like to play in the rain naked?!?'s good to be back! It's 9:43 and I 'm going to go wake up Sadie now!

I am alive...I promise!  The only problem is we live in the middle of nowhere and it is hard to swallow paying $80.00 a month for satellite internet.  I hope to resolve the situation soon (if I can convince my hubby that it is very necessary!!)

The store is doing great and I really am enjoying the town.  Hope to talk to you all soon!

I spent the day at my store today trying to begin to get everything ready...

I am tired...
I am overwhelmed...
I am stressed....
I am frustrated....
I am nervous.....
I am anxious....

I would love to post cute pictures with this, but I got nothing.  With the stress of the store, moving, closing on this house, getting the new house ready, getting kids adjusted........I am a tad bit overwhelmed right now.

I think it hit me driving home.  Like a brick wall....

Good story for ya:  I am driving in Abilene later today and this guy moves into my lane and sends me off the road up on the curb/landscaping.  I am blaring my horn and he just pulls in past me and drives to the back of the building.  I get off the curb and follow him (did I mention I was stressed).  I try to go the way I think he is exiting but he sees me and speeds behind the building next door!!  I reverse, get back out onto the road, swoop around and block this little teeny-bopper in as he is trying to exit.  He gets out apologizing and I rip him a new one about stopping when he has caused an accident.  I told him I wasn't mad about the accident, I was mad that I had to chase him down!  I think by the time I was through with him he had definitely learned a lesson!

Okay, so maybe I should just chill out for a little while!

Have a great day!

Dance Recital

On Sunday, the girls had their ballet recital!  We have been counting down the days for weeks now and they were SO excited to get to dance on the BIG stage in front of everyone.  The dance was absolutely adorable! And watching the other dances made me realize.......I am SOOOOOOOO unathletic!

For Sadie...dancing is.....FUN!  It is running, jumping, laughing, and doing every move except the one she is suppose to be doing.

For Brynn......Dancing is......SERIOUS!  She takes her moves and dance routine very seriously and wants to be just like all of the 'big girls' (AKA: Teachers)

The owner of the dance studio asked every child a question and their answer was printed in the recital program.  This year's question was, "If you could have 25 of anything, what would it be and why?"

Sadie's answer, "25 purple popsicles because they are my favorite and I like banana yogurt"

And my little social butterfly Brynn answered, "25 chairs for 25 friends when they come over to play" sweet!

Some of my favorites from other kids were:
"25 baby sisters" (Umm.....NO)
"25 caterpillars, worms, and butterflies because I like to eat them" (Neat kid)
"25 pairs of Snow White shoes cause it will be so cool with my Snow White costume.  But, the Mean Queen on Snow White is scary and I don't like her" (me either sweetie)

My beautiful ballerinas!

Thursday, May 13, 2010 I guess I'm a country girl.....

Justin and his parents worked this weekend at the new place getting things ready for us to move in at the end of the month.  I do love the new place.  It is peaceful, quiet, is in the country.  I mean waaaaaaaay out in the country (okay, only 15 miles but that is far in my world).

It will grow on me soon enough I know.

I am just not a fan of snakes, bugs, spiders, etc.  They've killed one rattlesnake and a few black widows so far.  See, this does not excite me.

BUT the place is beautiful!  It is 170 acres of peace.

And did I mention Justin has reverted back to a 5 year old at Christmas?  He is absolutely obsessed with the place.  I get excited watching him stay giddy 24/7 about moving.

They cleared out the road leading to the house.  I'm sure getting out to open/shut a gate will grow on me......right?

And when I get to the house and look back, I'm sure I won't be thinking about how if someone decided to come murder me that no one would hear me scream......right?

That's my mother-in-law busting her tail.  She works harder then any grown man I've ever met.....seriously!

Don't mess with her and her mission.

It will get done...she will see to it!

Did I mention that there are no child labor laws in the country?

And when daddy takes us out in the truck so we can watch him check deer feeders.....we get bored and play

You know you live in the country when this is in your backyard

And when I start to freak out, I think about spending an afternoon with my family here...

fishing, laughing, and feeling free......

And that makes me smile!

One of Those Days

Yesterday was one of those days....

I think back to times when Justin and I were dating and I can remember specific days vividly.  A certain road trip we took and on our way home, I swear we laughed the entire time.  Or spending Christmas with his family for the first time.  Specific days where everything seemed.......PERFECT!

I think back to specific days when the girls were babies.  Brynn walking for the first time.  Bringing Sadie home from the hospital.  Taking the kids to see a movie in the theater for the first time.  Or when I unexpectedly took both girls to the Dyess Air Fest a few years ago by myself.  I planned on staying an hour or so and we had so much fun that we stayed 6 or 7 hours!  Just perfect days where I was HAPPY!

Yesterday was one of those days....

On a whim, I took the girls to a rally downtown celebrating travel/tourism in Abilene.  If you attended the rally you received a button that allowed you to enter the tourist attractions here for free.  My original plan was to go to the zoo and then have a picnic.

But I quickly realized it was one of those days....

The animals were out, my kids weren't fighting, the weather was perfect, and everyone was happy!

Well, until Sadie got her head stuck...

(Yes, I took her picture before helping her out) but that's another story for another time..

There was no whining, no crying, no pouting, no fitting.....everyone was HAPPY!

After the zoo we had a picnic in the beautiful weather and then decided to head to Frontier Texas.  It was for older children but the girls still enjoyed it.  After that, we went out to the Historical Village in Buffalo Gap.  I thought it would be a flop, but the girls LOVED it!

Except when they give their said faces about the jail..

They fed chickens....

And practiced their ropin' skills

Brynn practiced preaching like Papa...

And Sadie was the background music...

I know there are a lot of pictures, but I really wanted to capture how perfect the day was.

Everyone was......HAPPY!
