Happy Monday

We had a wonderful weekend and the show was absolutely fabulous! I am exhausted and have realized that I am not as young as I used to me. I am still catching up on the lack of sleep. Thought I would give ya a little picture from the weekend before I went to sleep. (why is it that no matter how tan I get, my face stays casper-white....hmmmmm)

Fun Weekend Ahead

Have I mentioned how awesome my husband is? He rocks!! He surprised me with tickets to see the musical Chicago! It is coming to Abilene for one night only and he got us tickets!!!!!! I mentioned this to him about 4 months ago when I found out it was coming to town and he actually remembered. (Okay, so I kind of dropped a hint about a week ago but I didn't really think he picked up on it)

So, that is our Friday night plans and then Saturday I am having a good ole' GARAGE SALE!!

I am selling off the girls 0-18 month clothing and can you imagine how tedious it is to price onesie after onesie after onesie. Needless to say I am ready for the garage sale to be over with. After that, it is all going in a bag and getting posted on ebay.

Saturday night will be a night out with our best friends. Something fun always happens when the four of us go out together! You know, something along the lines of this:

or this:

Here we are behaving a little better:

We will get the kids back from Justin's parents on Sunday, go to a picnic for my job that afternoon, then I am sure we will be completely exhausted from all this adult fun we are going to have!!!!!!!!

No More Casper

This weekend kicked-off Mission: I'm Gonna Be Tan This Summer!

Flashback of my past summers:

2004: Barely pregnant and didn't want to get hot.

2005: Had a newborn and couldn't go out in the heat

2006: VERY pregnant and REALLY didn't want to be in the sun

2007: Had an 8 month old so still couldn't really take her outside for long

2008: I have 2 toddlers who LOVE to play outside!!!!!!! YIPPEE!

I am so pumped about actually having a tan this year! So, Saturday I set up my little suntan station complete with chair, side table, radio, drink, and some tanning lotion I found in my bathroom. I lather up the legs real good with tanning lotion and lay back for a wonderful baking session. The girls are playing nicely and I can feel my skin cooking by the minute.

After 3 hours of faithful turning, flipping over, etc. We all come in and all I want to do is check out my tan lines. My arms, face, and chest are already super red (which will turn into a tan and already has). I try to find the tan lines on my legs and well, there are none. I think maybe it just hasn't shown up yet but with the more time that passes the whiter they are compared to the rest of my body. Okay, so the "tanning lotion" that I smothered all over my legs was apparently old or like SPF 400!

My entire body had a nice sun glow except my legs! The main thing I wanted to get tan!!! Now, I am going to have to even out this coming up weekend but I look so weird right now. I would post pictures but I am way to lazy to get off the couch right now.

My Obsession

I have noticed on some other blogs, that people are listing some of the their favorite foods/products. I also noticed that a lot of their foods are.......healthy. Mine are not quite like that. I will finish my favorite product/food later, but this is the #1 food that MUST be in our house at ALL times:

Froot Loops with Marshmallow (FYI: until I uploaded this picture, I have always spelled it marshmellow) This stuff is the bomb-diggity! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Like I said, I will finish this post later because I have to talk about something else. I have become absolutely obsessed with:

Not obsessed with watching it, but being a contestant! Quit laughing, I am being serious!!! I have looked at all the details with entering and have decided to make a video and send it in. I don't know when this will happen so don't hold your breath. I really have become convinced that I HAVE to find a way to be on that show.

Justin and I were having a serious conversation about how to get out of debt and I really did say (and very seriously), "Well, once I go on DOND we will look at everything after that and see where we stand." Ummmm........Earth to Mary Beth! Then, that night I woke up at 1:45 in the morning seriously contemplating how much I will need to win and what I want to do with it. It truly has become an obsession!

I did audition for The Real World when I was 20 but obviously didn't make it. Wish me luck on this try!

At Least She's Honest

Story from church:

BRYNN: Mommy, I was saying BAM, BAM and the boy told me to BE QUIET!

MB: What did you do after that?

BRYNN: I said BAM, BAM louder!

MB: And then what did the boy say?

BRYNN: He told me to BE QUIET again!

MB: So then what happened?

BRYNN: I went BAM, BAM on his ears like this (as she proceeds to start banging on both of her ears)

MB: Brynn! That was not very nice.

BRYNN: No it was not (as she walks off)

I looked over at Justin trying to contain my laughter and he said, "Well, at least she knows it wasn't nice!" I have no clue who 'the boy' was or what his story was when he got home today!

I've Been Tagged

Wow! I never get tagged for stuff (probably because I usually do not ever do them) but this one I found different. This one isn't the usual "what's your favorite color", "what shoes are you wearing right now", "what did you eat for breakfast" type of quiz, so I thought I would participate in the fun.

I have noticed that I have some new readers and I have actually been told by an 'anonymous' college friend (you know who you are) that I have a new audience. By the way, that is the third time I have been approached by someone that I know in public with the line, "I read your blog!" I think it is the coolest thing ever and I never would have dreamed that these people knew that I had a blog or that I was even interesting enough for them to keep up with my life. It really irks me that people do not leave comments. I love feedback and wish more people would leave comments. I digress...

So, anywho......back to being tagged by Amy. Since I have some new readers I will share some new information. Here are the rules

1. Link your tagger. Post the rules
2. Share 7 facts about yourself (random or weird)
3. Tag 7 friends
4. Leave a comment letting them know they have been tagged.

Here goes......

1. I have to start my 'computer time' every evening the same way. I have to read all of my websites in the same order or I feel a definite void. Here is the order: Email, Google Reader (blogs), TMZ, X-17 Online, CNN, Abilene Reporter News. After this order, I browse around but these HAVE TO come first. I am a huge news junkie rather it be entertainment gossip or CNN!

2. I am very O.C.D. about my house being cleaned and the way that it is clean. I don't think I could hire a maid and be 100% happy. I am very picky about this and Justin has just learned to back off and not say a word. I have certain pet peeves that bother the heck out of me. Dried tea/coke splashed in the sink irks me more that anything! The laundry basket running over!?!? No, no, no. Clothes not hung up in the proper order in the closet? I gasp. All-in-all I go through and 'pick up' or house about 48 times per evening because right as I sit down I remember something else I wanted to clean up. This is especially random because up until I got married I was the messiest person ever. I even had several complaints from my roommates of the years. OK, I am getting way to into this one and I will move on.

3. Justin and I absolutely love to stalk houses. Oh yes you read that one right. We drive around all the time and look at big, luxurious houses and them come home and look them up to see who lives there. I know you are getting scared of me right now, but I promise we have a good reason. We want to know what these people do (job-wise) that allows them to live in such fabulous places. I always tell Justin that I want to just go knock on their door and say, "Excuse me, what do I have to do to get a house like this. Could you please teach me?" I think that would scare them as well. I have even been known to have the phone book in the car that gives the streets/addresses and who lives there. was good to get that off my chest. Please do not be scared of me.

4. I enjoy mowing the yard. Last summer, I would get off work early just so I could come home and mow before Justin got off work to surprise him. I would mow our house and my mom's house. It just gives me that could 'clean house' feeling. I think it also has to do with the fact that I had babies for 2 years straight and could never go outside. I was always cooped up with a baby indoors and now I love to do anything outside.

5. I have never had a pedicure. I have always had the ugliest toenails and would clip them practically off so I was too embarrassed to show anyone. I have done much better this summer and I think in a month or so I will be able to finally get one. Yes, this is gross but hey it is a random fact.

6. I have a variety of known blog readers ranging from college friends, in-laws, grandparents, work friends, high-school friends and I am always afraid of offending or embarrassing someone. I struggle with this when I am writing and feel that I can't really say what I want for fear of doing one of the two. I am trying to get better about this so I am apologizing now for any future posts that may embarrass or offend you. Get over it!

7. I really, really want more kids. Okay, let me clarify that. I know that deep down I do not really want more kids but I just can't imagine never having another baby around the house. I literally get teary when I think about never being pregnant again or never having another baby of my own to cuddle. But I know they grow into lovely toddlers and I DO NOT want more of those. I love my two girls and we will stay a family of four but I can't help but be a little curious about one more..............don't worry Justin will not budge on the whole no-more-kids issue.

Well, there you go! I hope we are much closer now in our reader/writer relationship. I am tagging Shauna, Megan, Emily (because she needs to be a better blogger), Annalee, Rachel, Suzanne, and RyAnn.

Workin' Hard

I know this is HORRIBLE video quality due to the sun, but it was just too cute and I had to post it! Here is Brynn and Daddy mowing the yard today:

Sister = Best Fwiends

Over the last month, Brynn and Sadie have really bonded as friends (well, Brynn thinks they are friends). The other day as I was driving, I looked into the backseat and the girls were holding hands with each other from their car seats! How adorable!

Here they are cuddled up on the couch watching TV (and no, I promise I did not put the blankets over them....Brynn did!!!)
Here is another watching TV moment together!

I know they won't always be "best fwiends" (as Brynn says) so I really treasure this time.

Onto other random news, I have this part of my ear pierced for about 10 years now:

I have no idea what got into my head, but I decided that it might not look too professional for my job so I parted ways with it. I feel so naked since I had had it for so long.

Random, I know!!
