Christmas 2008

And heeeeeeeere come the Christmas pictures!!! We had a very busy holiday, so now we are home and exhausted!! We spent Christmas day here at our house with my parents and grandmother. On Friday, we went to Dublin for the weekend to spend Christmas with Justin's family. We were very blessed this year.

Here is my baby holding her baby

Sorry these are out of order but here is Christmas morning with two excited girls.

And with some very excited hair!!

This was something very, very special to me. My Nanny (on the far right) is holding her Dutch Doll blanket that her grandmother made her. My Mom (on the far left) is holding her Dutch Doll blanket that Nanny made her. Now, my girls are holding their Dutch Doll blankets that Nanny made them.

We hope you had a wonderful holiday!!!

Please say a prayer

Christmas is in full swing at the Leach household!! The girls are SO excited and can hardly contain themselves when talking about Santa. Here is where I would post a picture of them with Santa but both girls have adamently refused to go near him. We have tried several times, but NO WAY!! Brynn's response was, "Can I just call him on the phone?" Typical Brynn. Sadie was more of the up front no with a response of, "I not see Santa!! I no talk to him!"

So, we didn't force anything and I will just have to live with no picture for this year. We made our batch of Christmas cookies last night and I would post a picture of that, but I left my camera at a friend's house when we went for a birthday party. Wow, the holidays have taken my brain away! I have enjoyed some time off with the girls and it really has been a fabulous week.

Also, please say another prayer for myself. Beginning January 1st, I will no longer be the Marketing Director for Chick-fil-A. I applied back in October to own my own CFA and so I will begin training in the operations area learning the ins and outs of everything. It is bittersweet, but I am very excited about what lies ahead. The process is very long and in-depth so we are expecting a year full of interviews and such. They receive about 10,000 applications a year so we will need all the prayer we can get. Also, if I get the store we will not be able to pick the location. This is where we need more prayers. We were told that staying in Texas would be a long shot so we are praying that we will still be somewhat near to family. Justin has been absolutely amazing and supportive and I hope that this all works out. There will be a lot of responsibility left to him and I know there will be trying times, but in the end the rewards are amazing! I am ready for the long road and the hard work, but prayers will be needed!!

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and I will be back with tons of pictures!!!

Last night we went to Justin's Christmas party for work and we had such a blast!!

Justin works for McCarty Equipment and there are several stores besides the one here in Abilene. They have stores all over Texas, one in Arkansas, and one in Colorado. There are about 75 employees total. Well, he got everyone and their spouse rooms at the McM Elgante hotel and then we were taken in buses out to the Expo Center for dinner, dancing, and the big fun of the night was the Deal or No Deal Game.

They were grouped in teams of 8-10 and they played the game with Kelly McCarty (the owner) being the banker. Whatever you won was split amongst your team. It was absolutely fabulous. Justin's team dealt for $1200 but their case had $100, so they made a great deal. 3 of the other teams actually had the $10,000 in their case but the dealt early!!! After that, they had drawings for a 50" plasma TV, blu ray player, surround sound, and another TV. We didn't win anything but that's okay. It was SO much fun. Probably way too much fun.
I had never been to a Christmas party this elaborate and we had a wonderful time!!!

Aaaaaaahhhh..........

Do you hear that?.............................

SILENCE!!!!!!!

Justin called me today and decided to go to his parents house for the weekend to help his dad with some stuff. He asked if I wanted to go and I told him I did, but that I really had a lot to do here. So, he took Brynn down there for the weekend and it is just Sadie and I relaxing alone! Isn't that awesome??! (I think I hurt his feelings that I was so happy about this) I love going down there but I could get SO much done without one child and a husband.

There is so much I could accomplish......clean out closets, Christmas shop, clean other random parts of the house, clean out Brynn's room and toy box, watch girly movies, (can you tell I like to clean?)........who knows how much or if anything will get done!

Let me quietness begin....

(I will be saving this and posting it on Sunday in case I have a internet stalker. So if you are stalking me, my husband is home now)

Sunday:
*UPDATE* I was a very busy girl.

Things accomplished:
bathed and cut the dog, cleaned out every closet in our house, cleaned out everyone's drawers in their room, cleaned microwave, cleaned fridge, installed new drain plug-thingies for our bathroom sinks, installed a door knob, repainted inside of cabinet underneath sink due to mistake in installing drain plug-thingies, rearranged Brynn's room, and finally Christmas shopped!!!!!

Whew....I am so soar, I can barely move.

Turkey Day Recap

We made it through the Thanksgiving holidays! We are all stuffed and worn out, but overall it was absolutely wonderful. We spent Thanksgiving Day with my family and then went to Justin's parents for the weekend. My cousin took these fabulous pictures of the girls and it may not look like it, but Brynn had a blast!!

Sadie loved playing with Garrett and Abigail (and the leaves)

Brynn found the gun to be especially fun.....should I be worried??

Here are the girls with Garrett (Abigail didn't think it was too fun to lay in the leaves)

I think my cousin Mark should be a professional photographer rather than a doctor!!

Lazy Saturday

Well, thanks to Suzanne's blog, we decided it was tent time at the Leach House! The girls LOVED it!! We woke up early and built it while Justin slept in. We made muffins and had a girls only breakfast in the tent this morning. Great fun!!

Tonight Brynn got all of her friends together and asked me to take a picture of her. She loves getting her picture made.

Tomorrow is the big day.......49ers vs Dallas!!!! No expectations, just high hopes.

Birthday Fun

Last Friday was my birthday.....whew..... the big 2-9!!!

Warning: You are about to read what every old person says

I just don't feel like I am really 29!

Maybe because I work with a lot of teenagers or am I just in serious denial, but it feels like yesterday when I was 16.

Okay, onto the good stuff. Justin took me on a romantic getaway to Possum Kingdom for the weekend. Ain't he grand!!

We get there and get all spiffied up for a nice dinner only to go out exploring and find that every restaurant is closed because it is after 9. BUT there is a bar down the street that MAY have a grill. Hey, this will work for me because I am STARVING. We head over to the bar and it is so crowded because they have a band playing. There are people everywhere-none of which are eating. We ask and YES they do have burgers. We find a table, order our food, and watch as we stick out like a big, sore thumb. The burgers were amazing! Seriously, the best burger I ever had. We decided that this probably wasn't 'our' crowd and we were just slightly over-dressed so we headed back to the house.

Bright and early we get ready to go on the lake. Yes, we are stupid.

Now, I know we look like we are going skiing, but noooooo we are going boating. We wanted so badly to go out and see all of the beautiful houses but it was 46 degrees when we unloaded the boat on the lake.

We tried to make the most of it but we were FREEZING!! We got back to shore and decided to just drive and look at houses. WOW! There are some amazing houses. It is now about noon and we decide to just head to his parent's house and see the girls. So, our "weekend" was actually about 22 hours. It was so fun and I swear we laughed the entire time. I think the girls got tuckered out at their grandparents house as well.

Top 10 signs you are old when on vacation you:

1. Decide that a crowded bar with a really good band is 'too much' for you and you would rather go back to the house and go to bed.

2. You are in bed by 10:30.

3. You are wearing sweaters and heels at a bar.

4. The one morning with no kids you are still up and ready to go by 8:00am

5. You realize that you actually have to eat breakfast now so you won't get sick later.

6. You pack Pepto Bismal just in case for your romantic getaway.

7. You're scared that you won't be able to sleep since it isn't "your" bed.

8. The highlight of your trip is looking at houses.

9. You feel lost without cable and are missing your nightly shows.

10. You miss your kids and head home a day early.

Maybe I really am 29!!!

Sleepy Girl

Last night Justin came and got me out of the living room with the well-known prase, "Go look at your daughter." This usually means something pretty good has happened. She had been asleep for over two hours so I could only imagine what she had done. Apparently she had decided to get up and play for a little while, rearrange her bed, and then crash out on the floor. Poor girl!

I guess this is a 49ers post????

Work has been crazy lately. Last week I barely saw my family, let alone found time to blog.

This week my parents are out of town and so I have a weird work schedule to be home with the girls during the day.

Just needed to vent my frustrations with my team. I am watching the last minute of the 49ers game and boy was it a doozy. I thought we had it and then a STUPID play may have cost us the game. It is now 4th quarter: 29 to 24 Arizona winning.

GRRRRRR.........

Oh wait, we are starting to actually look pretty good........ need to watch (52 seconds left)

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1st and goal with 20 seconds left in the game.........

I love my niners again!!!

I am about to be sick with nervousness......

2 seconds left and we are reviewing the last play........Lordy, that was a close one......

Still reviewing......

I am sick...we didn't get it in. Stupid play. I don't see how I haven't woke up everyone in this house with my anger. Well, another loss under the belt.

I didn't mean for this post to be about the niners, but dang that was a close game.

Long time....

Sorry I have taken a break from the blogging world. My job has gotten really hectic lately and blogging just hasn't been on the top of my list lately. Everyone is doing great here! One of my most recent events was a tricycle race that we sponsored. Brynn and Sadie entered and I am proud to say that Brynn WON! (Okay, so one of the girls was 18months old, the other barely could ride a tricycle and Sadie quit but who cares about the details!!!)

After the race, Papa Steve treated us to a special day at Primetime complete miniature golf, arcade games, and BBQ lunch! It was really a fun day for us!!

And for kicks, we just had to get this picture. Hey, you never know!!!

It feels good to be back!!

Who is this girl???

This morning Brynn proudly tells me that today she is going to be a "big helper." "What's the catch?" was my first thought, but then again she is only 3 so helping mom is actually fun right now. She asks if she can make my bed. Ummm.....sure.....have at it! Here is her finished product (pretty dang good for a 3 year old!)

After that, she tells me that she wants to make her own bed. Okay, seriously.....who snuck in her room last night and switched her with a new and improved Brynn. "Ummm....I guess?!?!" Is my reply. So, we got the comforter the wrong way but still she did pretty dang good!!!

So is she really just a good helper or....

A) My cleaning OCDness has rubbed off on her
B) She wants the new Strawberry Shortcake movie that is out
C) She has a big secret that she doesn't know how to break to me
D) All of these 'manners' books and movies have finally paid off

I don't know what is going on with her, but I sure like it. Now if only I could teach her how to do laundry, take the trash out, load and unload the dishwasher......we would be golden around here!!

PS: I didn't have time to photoshop these and lighten them up-sorry they are so dark.

Conversation with Sadie

Here was my conversation with Sadie a minute ago as I am changing her diaper:

MB: Sadie, you really need to start pee-peeing in the potty

S: Like in my diaper?

MB: Like the pee-pee in your diaper, only in the potty.

S: You so silly mommy!

MB: Why am I silly?

S: I no pee-pee in potty. I pee-pee in diaper!

MB: But don't you want to be a big girl?

S: NO

Yup.....she's my hard-headed one.

My camera battery has suddenly died and won't recharge....so sorry about no pictures.

Enjoy the new face lift!

Just call him Big Black

For those of you who don't have cable (Adryn), don't watch MTV (mom and dad), or just plain don't care (I'm not sure if ANYONE fits in this category).......but we are HUGE fans of the show "Rob and Big". We have been hooked since the first episode and I have almost peed my pants many times during their show (i.e. "Bobby Light", "Black Lavender", etc)

So, here we are gearing up for the most important day of our life......okay not no really......but pretty dang exciting!

Drumroll please......

Here I am with Big Black

Now Justin's turn

He is big guy!

He came into town to promote the opening of this new club and their college night. Okay, so we aren't in college, but neither were half the people in that place. Too bad Rob wasn't there! We had the front row table and it was an absolute blast. So, I've seen 50 Cent and Big Black over the last year.....wonder who's next! I'll leave you with my favorite Rob and Big picture.

Blah

I have not been too good at blogging lately. I have lost the charger to my camera, so therefore no pictures which means no post.

We went to Dublin this last weekend to see Justin's parents and took them to a little mini-fair in Stephenville. It was an absolute blast! (This is where I would post pictures, but they are on my mother-in-law's camera)

Everything else is going great here. Just staying busy. Since posts aren't good unless there is a a picture............Here ya go!

Have a great day!!

The Punies

We have been battling the punies around the house this week. Sadie has an ear infection and I haven't felt just peachy. Here is Brynn and Sadie's way of playing "sick." Sadie puts one of Grammy's old shirts on.....this is her 'gown'. Then Brynn tucks her in on the couch and reads her a story. Too cute.

Brynn on the other hand has been feeling just fine.

In fact, she is feeling no worries whatsoever.

Hope everyone has a better week. Good luck to everyone in Houston/Galveston area. We will be praying for everyone.
