David's Wedding Reception

As I had said before, my brother (David) was married in Australia on June 28th and Saturday was their reception here. It was beautiful and I really enjoyed visiting with all of my family. Here is my hottie husband and I (please note the new dark hair color):

The older I get, the more I truly cherish and enjoy time with my family. I know that sounds bad and I don't mean for it to, but I really had a wonderful time visiting with my cousins. As we have all 'grown up' and have are own careers and family, I feel closer to them and admire what they have become. Okay, that sounded really sappy like it should be read at someone's funeral, but you know what I mean! Justin and I left there saying, "I really wish we lived closer to all of them!" Here I am with my first cousins Diana and Janice:

This was my favorite scene at the reception. Even though we are all married and some of us have kids of our own..........we still have our 'kids table'!!!! Our 'kids table' consisted of a lawyer, 2 teachers, speech pathologist, engineer, 2 doctors (yes they are husband and wife), diesel mechanic, and me. I am sure we have some proud grandparents!!

I will post the big family picture when I get my hands on one!

PS: We see another doctor on Tuesday for Justin's mouth. Keep praying!!

The Nightmare

I thought I would fill you in on our nightmare of a weekend.

Justin had surgery on Friday.

Saturday-He tries to eat some mac and cheese and says, "Babe, my chewing tooth is missing."

"Ummmm....what do you mean Justin?" I reply
He says, "You know, my big molar in the back that we were going to have crowned - it's gone!"
"What are you talking about? Let me look."

Okay, yeah his molar is GONE!

We call our dentist and he gets us right in on Monday morning to have some x-rays and see what is going on. The surgeon pulled three wisdom teeth and one MOLAR!!! One of his wisdom teeth is STILL IN THERE! Our dentist contacts the oral surgeon and the oral surgeon calls us. Needless to say, the surgeon and I do not exchange very kind words. He gave me some excuses like (and I swear he really said this): "the room was dark" and "Justin was anxious and moving around" (mind you he was completely out cold). I freak out on him and it just got ugly.

This excuse was my favorite:
HIM: Really, I did you a favor because that tooth would have needed some work and you really don't need your second molar.
ME: Okay, let me get this right. "Sorry, I took out the wrong kidney but hey you really don't need two anyways and that one could of had cancer!?!?" Are you kidding me? There are lots of body parts we don't need but that doesn't mean you can just remove them as you dang well please!!!

Please let me know some advice on how to handle this. Every professional we have talked to says to get a lawyer but Justin and I just want to be compensated to have the tooth replaced (this will have to include a bone graph since he pulled out a chunk of his jaw bone that was attached to the molar). The surgeon feels that this is 'no big deal' and that I am 'overreacting'.

Sadie: 11 Months Old

I can't believe that Sadie is almost a year old! Her vocabulary includes: up, yes, da-da, ma-ma, ace (the dog), and out. She lights up my life everyday with her innocent smile!! God has blessed us more than any words can describe. So, here is Sadie at 11 months old:

Pray I make it out alive

This weekend is not starting off too good. Yesterday, I come home to Sadie running 102.2 temp. So, off to the dr we go and they cannot find anything specific wrong. They do some blood work and her white count was really low, so this means it is some viral infection and we can't treat it. Great.

This morning Justin had all four wisdom teeth taken out. Now please know, he has never had anything done-not even an IV. So, this was especially traumatic. I really wanted to video his drunken slurs on the way home, but decided that would not be very nice. (Although I did laugh until I was crying). He is fast asleep right now with puffy cheeks and gauze hanging out of his mouth. Poor guy.

So, then I get a call from mom and now Brynn has fever. YIPPEE! This is going to be a great weekend. I am about to pick the girls up, drug everyone up, and play nurse all weekend. Pray that I stay sane!

Extreme Home Makeover Weekend

Aaaaahhhhh.......I am so exhausted. I ache and am sore all over, but it is one of those great exhausteds. We worked all weekend on the house just doing all of the piddly crap that we always talk about doing. Well, now it is all done and everything is so clean and pretty!! The garage is clean, the freezer is cleaned out, all of the laundry is done, the grass is mowed and edged, our oil is changed on the car, our windows are clean, the dogs now have a swimming pool, doggie windows are now installed in our fence, etc. You know, one of those weekends. I love weekends like this because I feel so fresh and clean on Monday starting off the work week.

Now for the exciting news. Justin found out Friday that he will go back to working 8-5!!! YEEEAAAAHH! Right now, he is working 11-8 and it really sucks because the girls go to bed at 8 so I am alone doing dinner, baths, etc. We will finally get to have dinner together! I think his boss heard that he was looking for another job and gave in to Justin's request to work days (that he has requested now for 3 months)!!! Whatever the reason, we are super excited.

I will be in Houston on Tuesday and Wednesday for work so pray that my girls make it through alive being alone with Justin! I am sure they will have ice cream for dinner and Oreos for breakfast but oh well, that is what dads are for I guess!

Have a fabulous Monday!!

The Weekend

Well, we are back from the very long drive to Justin's parents. It was so good to see everyone again and see their new place, but it made for a very long weekend. The girls did okay considering this was their longest ride in the car. We got to enjoy an hour of Sadie yelling, "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" all the way down there and Brynn screaming, "I go back!!" all the way home. Just peachy!!

One highlight of the weekend was Justin and his dad killing a rattlesnake out by their shop (which is right behind their house). Not my cup of tea, but I think Justin was thrilled!

Have a great Monday!

I have inspired.......nobody

I just haven't been up to par with my blogging lately and I really don't have a good reason! I just don't have anything inspiring to share with anyone. Here are some tidbits:

*Sadie is no longer teetering when she walks. She is a full-walker now (jogging and all).

*I heard Brynn coaxing Sadie into the bathroom where the lights were off and I couldn't figure out what she was doing. Once Sadie made it in there, Brynn starts screaming, "Monsters in here!! Monsters in here!!" As she runs out and leaves Sadie crying in the dark bathroom.

*Everthing is 'right now' to Brynn. This incudes, "Get my juice RIGHT NOW!" and "Put my movie in RIGHT NOW!" It's getting old!

*Brynn has started 'mothering' Sadie. This includes spanking her, taking things away from her that Brynn feels she shouldn't have, pushing her down if she remotely touches anything wrong, etc. This too is getting very old.

*They have started this 'who can scream that loudest and the longest contest'. As you can guess, this gets EXTREMELY old!!!

*Sadie's new name is T-Rex. She bites everyone and everything. She looks just like a T-Rex as she is walking around with her jaws just biting away looking for something to latch onto. She really can't be around any children right now, especially those that are too young to get away. I tried the 'bite her back' theory and all she did was cry, pull my hair, and bite my other leg. I think Brynn comes to me 62 times a day to tell me Sadie bit her. I seriously cannot keep her teeth off of anything! We may end up having to rub tabasco sauce on our table, chair, couch, fireplace, and all of our bodies to keep her away.

*My brother got married in Australia and will be back this Saturday. I am really looking forward to seeing the pictures. They did the whole 'do-it-alone thing', so I will just have to see the pictures. I know it was beautiful, though.

*As I am typing this, Brynn has Sadie in a headlock and is telling her to "Stick her tongue out RIGHT NOW!". When I ask her what she is doing she says, "Sadie might have put paper in her mouth." Ummmm.....might of? Weird kids.

*We are huge fans of Toddler Time at our library. I highly recommend you see if your local library has this. They sing, dance, and read books. Brynn absolutely loves it!!

*Tommorrow we make the fun 6 hour trip to Dalhart to see Justin's parents (remember they recently moved there). This will be our first time to go, so wish us luck!!!

I will try to take some pictures of the girls in their 4th of July gear. I know, a post with no pictures sucks. I'll make it up to ya! Have a great weekend!!!

Vacation

We are back from our little vacation! We had an absolute blast just relaxin' and enjoying some time together alone. Here is the break down of the week.

We left Wednesday and went to Austin to meet up with some friends of ours. We went down to 6th street to 'Pete's Piano Bar' (a favorite of ours) and had a BLAST. They are our new couple-BFF's! Here is where I would insert a picture of the four of us, but we never took one:

Thursday we went to San Marcos and shopped at the outlet mall. Good times. After that we drove into San Antonio, checked into the hotel, and headed down to the Riverwalk. I was craving Mexican food, but we knew we didn't want to eat at this nasty place we ate last time. We head down to the Riverwalk and meet a family in the elevator and ask where is a good place to eat. They name "Casa Rio". Fine by us-so off we go. We check in and the wait is one hour. No problem. When we finally get called we go down this little path into the restaurant and realize that this is the same 'nasty place' we had ate at before!! Not only the same place, but we get seated at our exact same table!!!!!! I am MAD! We suck it up and eat the worst meal ever. NOT happy. It was getting late and I had to work the next day so we head home. Sure enough, midnight rolls around and I am sick as a dog. I seriously thought I was going to have to go to the hospital!! I finally fall asleep at 2am. (great since I have to get up for work at 8) Here we are before we realized we were at the 'nasty place':

Friday-I work all day at a Chick-Fil-A down there with their Marketing Director and Owner/Operator. Justin drove around all day.

We went out that night- no good stories. Saturday-shopped, ate, and headed home.

Pretty basic, but very relaxing. I would have posted more pictures, but that is all we took.

I did, however, take a picture of this:

Maybe I am just a dork from little ole' Abilene, but I was amazed by this!! It looks like a 12 pack of Dr Pepper but it is a little 8 pack!! I loved it! (Easily amused I guess)
