Family 'Day'

We had a wonderful weekend. The fence is officially DONE! Tomorrow will be Ace and Lucy's first day in the backyard!! All of the weeds are pulled and the yard is mowed-good, productive weekend.

After working all weekend we decided to have Family Day today!!! (Okay, I decided it on my own) Anyways......

Family Day started at approximately 10:00. The kids were dressed and off we went. We had no particular plans, just to go to random stores or whatever.

First stop, off to PetSmart to get Lucy and collar and tag. I take Brynn to go look at all the animals and Justin picks out the stuff for Lucy with Sadie. We meet back, get the tag made, and off we go. No problems.

Next, we decided to run across town to see if this big liquidation sale was going on. (You must remember that my husband never rides in the car with both children unless we are going out of town so he is unfamiliar with how chaotic it gets). Of course the sale is not going on anymore and we have to drive farther to get to this little boutique I want to go to.

In the car, Sadie starts getting restless because it is time for her morning cat nap. Brynn starts in on her usual, "Daddy, look it's green!!" "Daddy, look it's red!" (talking about traffic lights). Now, if you do not answer her she just keeps repeating it louder and louder and even if you do she still repeats it anyways. After about the 10th time I see he is getting frustrated. Sadie is now full-on crying wanting her bed and Brynn is trying to crawl out of her car seat so that she can see out the window. We get her back down and by now Sadie has dozed off. Brynn decides to wake her up by screaming, " SADIE!! Wake up!!" Well, she's awake by now and screaming. Brynn then starts repeating, "Daddy, what doing?" "Daddy, what doing?" "Daddy, what doing?" (about 15 times). Justin is now sweating bullets of frustration. "Driving," he replies after each question growing more and more frustrated. Sadie manages to doze off again and we arrive at the boutique.

Brynn and I go in and leave Justin and Sadie out in the car since she was asleep. Well, 5 minutes later in walks Justin with a very mad Sadie. (the car had stopped and so she had woke up). We quickly walk through the boutique and leave.

Now, Brynn is hungry so we stop off at Sonic for some tater tots. Off we go again, heading to Home Depot. This of course sparks Sadie to decide she is ready to eat as well. Once again, Sadie is screaming and Brynn is yelling, "More tater tot!" (about 15 times). I notice we are not heading to Home Depot.

I asked Justin, "Where are you going?"
He replies, "HOME!!!!!"

Family Day ended at approximately 12:10.

Lucy

We have a new family member!!! Meet Lucy (tentative name):

I would have gotten some pictures of her awake, but she NEVER is!! Well, only at 1:30 and 3:30 in the morning (typical baby). She is a Red Heeler and just for the record, she is Justin's dog. We won't go into all the details about his decision to get her......okay yes we will......I was not asked (because he knew I would say no).....so he just got her!!!!! We hashed it out and he told me that he would take COMPLETE care of her. So, at 1:30 when she woke up to pee I gladly reminded him that she was 'his' dog!! We'll see how this works out. Wish us luck!!!

Week/Weekend Wrap-Up

I know it has been awhile (thanks for the reminder, Shauna)!! It was a horrible week in the drama category, but life will go on. I wish I had some fun stories to tell, let me think. Since no post is good without pictures, here ya go:

Making her mama proud:
Petting the goats:

The BIG DAY:

Brynn's imagination never ceases to amaze me, case in point:
She has started having pretend tea parties. Well, she brought Justin his 'tea' and right as he was about to 'drink' she said, "Daddy! Be careful!" Too cute.
Sadie is nine months old today. She is cruising all around the living room but hasn't gotten the courage to let go yet. Any day now she is going to take off all on her own!
Shrek 3 went over pretty good. Brynn was actually more excited about seeing all the other kids. A baby started crying in the back of the theatre and she started yelling, "Mommy, Sadie cwying (crying).........mom......hear dat?" She was very concerned with me not checking on 'Sadie'.
That's all I got for now. I will try and think of more.
PS: I hate when I am eating popcorn at the movies and I get a kernel thingy stuck in between my back teeth during the previews, then I spend the WHOLE movie trying to get it out with my tongue and end up hurting my tongue and never getting out. REALLY annoying!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day! We went to church and then over to mom's for lunch. At church they recognized new mothers ('new' meaning anyone who had a child since last Mother's Day), so Sadie and I got to go up to the front and get a special present. I thought it was pretty cool but Sadie wasn't a fan of all the people. Here is Brynn and I after church (Sadie was asleep):
This was pretty much Sadie's attitude all morning:

The best picture I could get:

My mother has had a hard time over the last year since her accident and I pray everyday that she will someday be pain-free and able to do all the things she wants to do. She is an amazing women and an even better grandma!!!!
I am very lucky to have a special relationship with my mother and I can only pray that I will be that close with my two daughters as they grow up!!!

I LOVE YOU MOM!

(I think I set a new record for posting everyday this weekend!)

PS: This week begins "Shrek Week" on The Ellen Degeneres Show building up for it's release date Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Western Heritage

Justin's parents came into town to take Brynn up to The Western Heritage. They brought her a little 'cowgirl' outfit complete with Wranglers, shirt, belt and BOOTS! She looked absolutely adorable!

When you have such cute pictures like that, who needs to write a post!!!!!

The Pasci Mystery

So, yesterday I was cleaning out Sadie's room and I went to clean under her crib and I found 16 pascifiers under her crib! I was shocked!!!!! Brynn did this as a baby and we never knew until we took down her crib. I couldn't believe Sadie did this too! I put them up on her dresser in a nice neat pile and we all joked about Sadie's 'hidden stash.' I go in there that evening to put her to bed and when I reach to get one from the pile..........no pasci's.......

Okay, I know I am not crazy. I look all around the dresser, in the toys, all over her room, in the living room,......nothing. Not even one!

I go into Brynn's room. I had just put her to bed about 10 minutes prior. Here is the conversation:

ME: Brynn
B: What mom
ME: Where are Sadie's pasci's?
B: White Dere ("right there" as she is pointing out the door)
ME: Okay, can you be a little more specific.
B: White Deeeeeeerrrrre mommy (very annoyed at my obviously stupid question)
ME: Get up and come show me where you are pointing at.
B: Okay mom

(she hops out of bed and marches right on over to Sadie's room, bends down, pulls up the bedskirt, and points under the crib)

B: White DERE mom!!!!!

(gets up, marches right back to her room, crawls into bed, and doesn't say a word)

I look and sure enough, 16 pasci's all in a nice, neat pile under the bed! Guess some habits never go away!

Randomness

Yucky rainy weather! It makes me want to crawl in bed and spend the whole day watching old movies...........

Justin has been working on getting the fence up. I think he has made a lot of progress:

I can already tell how much bigger it is going to be! Maybe enough room for a pool?!?! Hmmmm............

This weekend we had some friends over to watch the Mayweather vs. De La Hoya fight. I am not a big boxing fan, but I really enjoyed having everyone over for Cinco de Mayo and the fight. Good times! I do love me some Oscar, but it really was a pretty boring fight.

Now I didn't really like Donna Martin (Tori Spelling) on the old TV show "Beverly Hills: 90210", I mean she was okay, just not my favorite. I presonally liked Kelly (Jennie Garth) while Justin had a HUGE crush on Brenda (Shannon Doherty). Brenda!!!! WHAT!!!:
How could you like Brenda over Kelly?!!?!
ANYWAYS! For some reason I started watching the show "Tori and Dean: Inn Love" this weekend and actually enjoyed it! I really felt like she was more down to earth than I thought. The point of the show is that they are wanting to leave L.A. and open their own Bed and Breakfast. Tonight is the season finale and I am actually excited about it.

Yes, I know I watch waaaaaayyyy too many reality shows!!!

OUCH!

We went to the pediatric dentist here in town (who is WONDERFUL by the way). You know that piece of skin, like if you stick your tongue over your top teeth, between your top gum and your top lip.......(hope you got that).......that is completely gone BUT that seems to be the only permanent damage. The teeth are fine, so she will just have that connecting skin gone. It will grow back some, just not completely. The worst part is that he put her on a soft diet for ONE MONTH! We have to put all her food through some grinding and mashing and no hard cookies, chips, pizza, etc (anything she would have to bite into). That is going to suck!

All in all out of all the potentially horrible things that could have come out of this we really got lucky. Thanks for all of the advice!
