Costumes

Here we are on are way to a Halloween party!!! It is scary how real Justin's costume looked. I don't think I could handle the mullet! Sexy Ref!
On another note....we got to spend Friday night in the emergency room with Sadie. She got her two month immunizations on Thursday and apparently had a severe reaction to them. She didn't eat or sleep for 24 hours straight and ended up really sick. She was running high fever, developed a rash, and her eyes were very swollen and purple. I freaked out! She would just scream and scream. All is better now but it was very scary for a little while. They took her blood and it came back normal so that was good news.

Terrible.....19 months?!?!

Is it possible for a child to hit the 'terrible twos' at 19 months? If so, I think this is what has happened to my child. For example:

1. She took her pants and diaper off the other night, crawled in Sadie's swing, and POOPED in it!! Oh yes! THEN proceeded to swing for awhile until I noticed all of this had happened! VERY nasty mess!!

2. She has discovered boogers! So, now she wants to pick her nose all the time. I guess it is like digging for a prize. Yeah-gross!!

3. She takes her diaper off all of the time at night and pees her bed. This means I have to wash all of the bedding almost everyday!

4. If you don't have Sadie fully strapped into her bouncy, Brynn will go over and drag her out and then proceed to drag her around the room.

Now I know most of you are saying, "Where are you while all of this is going on?" I promise I don't neglect my kids. I swear these things happen in a matter of seconds. I can go change the load of laundry and come back to one of these things. It is crazy!!!!!

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Random Thoughts

Nothing really has happened, but I had some down time here at work so I thought I would post a random thought post:

* Sadie is two months old today! She went to sleep last night at 10:30 and woke up at 7:00! Pretty impressive (this is the only time that has happened). She is starting to smile now which cracks us up. Sometimes she will laugh out loud, but it scares her and she starts crying. Pretty cute if I do say so myself.

* I am getting an IUD placed today. Won't give too much detail on that one (google it if you are curious). For some reason I am kind of nervous?!?

* Brynn is learning to count. We can count from 1-10. I say 'we' because I say the odd numbers and she says the even numbers. If I try to go past ten she just starts back at 2. Weird kid.

* My homecoming for Hardin-Simmons is next weekend. Not sure if I want to go or not. I will just have to see who is coming into town. (thanks a lot Ry for ditching out!!) Justin dreads this weekend....let's just say he isn't too fond of my 'college memories.'

* We watched The Inside Man and The Sentinel-I highly recommend them. Good ones!

* I am really craving stew. I always do when it gets cold.

That is all my randomness for today. Since no post is good without pictures.........here are some random pictures to go with my random thoughts!!! Have a good weekend!

JUST WOKE UP

The Mullet

I finally convinced Justin that Brynn needed her first haircut!! She was growing a full on mullet. It was so horrible! Yes, I gave her an at-home haircut but only because it really was just a few snips here and there. I have been traumatized by the at-home haircut in the past and will not subject my children to that in the future-I promise!

The back before (told ya it was a mullet):

Yes, I know she looks upset in every picture but I promise you she was not permanently emotionally scarred by the at-home haircut!

BK vs AK

Let me take you back to a time.....a time when I had a booming social life, skinny clothes, money in my bank account, etc.....you know that time.......B.K. (Before Kids). B.K is simply a time where you have the most unrealistic ideas of parenting that you think are very realistic. Then comes A.K. (After Kids). This period is defined as a time where you begin to realize that your unrealistic ideas of parenting truly are unrealisitic.

Let me give you some examples from my own dream world of parenting.....

BK: "I am never going to take my kid into public without them wearing a cute outfit."
AK: I took Brynn into Walgreens the other day in her pajamas (which consisted of a purple onesie and some fruit-punch red capris), no shoes, and dried lasagna on her face.

BK: "I am not going to have millions of toys all over my house. She can have a few good toys so that my house won't look messy"
AK: We have a toy basket in every room it seems like, not to mention all the toys I find hidden in the car.

BK: "My kid will eat what I feed her. She will not pick and choose what she wants for each meal."
AK: I think Brynn has had a pop tart for breakfast for the past week.

BK: "I will still watch all of my shows on TV. I will not be controlled by the cartoon channel."
AK: Not only have I seen "Finding Nemo" 3 times in the last few days, but we even watch it in the car as well!

Here is my point to all of the this rambling:
BK: I had a friend whose son went through a Blues Clues phase. Oh God it was horrible! All of his toys were Blues Clues, his clothes were Blues Clues, and even his birthday party was Blues Clues. I remember thinking that this was a little out of control and totally stupid. "I was never going to let my child be obsessed with some stupid cartoon character. She could wear regular clothes like everyone else!"

AK: Yup, you guessed it. Brynn has hit an Elmo phase and it is just the cutest thing in the world! I guess I have now become my worst fear......one of those moms!

Poxies

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Nothing too exciting happens around our house I guess.

We no longer have any kittens at our house!! YIPPEE!!! We found homes for three of them and the other two went to 'go make other boys and girls happy' (aka: The Pound)

Please note: I love animals...I really do! You have to understand that these kittens have been living in Sadie's room, climbing all over everything, and sharing a litter box. So, not only do I not have a nursery for Sadie, but no matter how much you clean....it just STINKS!! They were eight weeks old and the man at the pound told me that since they were litter box trained that they would be adopted out pretty fast (yes I understand that he probably tells this to everyone but I don't care it made me sleep easier that night). Now that I got that off my chest...onto the story....

Our cat's name is Roxy and Brynn calls her 'Poxy' thus making the kitten's names 'Poxies'. Ya follow? On the way to the pound, I turned 'Memo' (aka: Finding Nemo) on in the van thinking this would occupy her while I ran them inside to drop them off. She is very into her movie and hardly notices that I get out of the car. I come back and start to back the van up and that is when Brynn asks in a whiny, questionable voice, "Poxies?" Okay, ummm...what do I say to that? "Mama, poxies???" (this time more upset). I tell her that they went to go play with other boys and girls. Then the breakdown happens. "Poxies, poxies, poxies!!!" I felt so horrible! I guess I traumatized our poor little 18 month old. Now she just keeps going over to Sadie's door and asking where the poxies are. Yeah, I suck!
