Sunburn

I tried several times to get a good shot of the burn, but the lines of where my bathing suit was are a little close to some personal areas. So, I don't know if this fully captures all the pain I am in. If you will note the white streaks.....see.....I did put SOME lotion on! Just apparently not enough. I wish you could fully see the horror of this sunburn, but not so much on the WWW!

This Week/Weekend

What a whirlwind of a week!! (Say that one five times fast!) Erin is now gone and I am really missing her. We had such a good time together. I love best friends, because you don't have to entertain them or roll out the red carpet-you can just be yourself and lay around like bums and have such a good time together. So, we decided to go swimming. Yeah, Erin is VERY tan and I am well....the color of glue. Let's just say I am the color of a red crayon now. Pink all over, but lobster red on my prego-tummy! It hurts so bad that I could just cry. (don't you worry, pictures will come soon) While we were in Dallas dropping Erin off, I met up with an old friend from college for lunch. This is Kim from the good ole' HSU

Here is a picture of us out on Saturday. (L to R) Amanda (old roommate, me, Erin) Told ya Erin was VERY tan!

I guess that wraps up the week/weekend. Went to the doctor today and I have lost a pound and am still measuring 28-29 weeks. (I am 31-32 weeks) So, we will recheck everything in two weeks and go from there. Guess I am going to have to load up on some chocolate and ice cream.....DARN!

PS: Please go over to the right hand side of the page, go to "Megan's Blog", and read her post about teenagers. I dang near peed my pants (which is pretty common these days!!)

Brynn and Baby's Room

Here are some pictures of the girls' rooms. There really wasn't much to take pictures of before. They were dirty and solid white. Yup, that pretty much covers it. This was Brynn's closet beforehand.

Here is the after look. This first picture gives the true color of the red. It doesn't look right in the other pictures. For those who don't know, Brynn's room is ladybugs! Here is a good shot of the crib that Justin's Aunt Judy painted for us. (no curtains on the windows yet)
All of the knobs on her furniture are ladybugs as well.
This just gives a good match to the color of baby's room. It is going to be bumblebees and I want to use black furniture.
This is walking into her room.

I don't know if those were very clear or not. The rooms are pretty small so it is hard to capture them in pictures. Speaking of new baby, we had a sonogram done yesterday and she is weighing 3lbs 9oz. Everything looked great! Brynn has a sinus infection and ear infection-YUCK! Apparently she has polyps on her tonsils from the infection so she wants to itch them since they hurt. So, yeah she just walks around sticking her finger down her throat trying to itch them, which consequently gags herself. Pretty yucky!!

This Weekend

Sorry, but I am going to have to take a little break from house pictures. Maybe more tomorrow. Things are hectic up here at work, so I don't have time to do a long post. I will really try to get pictures up tomorrow.

This weekend was VERY hectic to say the least. Justin's grandmother had a stroke Thursday night, so headed to Stephenville on Friday. She is doing remarkably well! I was very impressed with her spirits. Please be in prayer for her.

THEN on Sunday we went to Dallas to pick up my very best friend in the entire world, Erin, from DFW (she lives in Colorado now). We spent the day up there for Father's Day. One of our stops was Cabelas. Okay, that place was just plain outrageous! Overall, good day and now Erin will be with us all week. Dang I had missed her so much! Guess that covers all of the basics of our life right now. Really don't sleep good in the new house, but I am sure that will just take some time!!

BEFORE/AFTER: The Master Bedroom

Well, I guess the Blogger people heard me compalining and fixed the problem. So, onto the master bedroom! There is a whole other side to this room, but for some reason I didn't take any pictures of it. (you aren't missing anything so don't worry-just 2 newly painted walls). Okay, so this was the beginning of the wallpaper-tearing-down-phase. We didn't do hardly anything to the vanity area except replace the light and paint. Notice in this first picture the pink carpet. Nice!! To the left of the vanity is the bathroom and to the right is a walk-in closet.

More wallpaper......

The carpet was now ripped up, the walls were textured/primed and we were getting ready to paint..........

This first picture gives a true picture of the color. Yes it is a silver-grayish color. I wasn't too sure when Justin first picked it out, but I absolutely love it!! It sets a very romantic tone. This is the bathroom. All we did was retile it. (oh you can see the new carpet in this picture, too)This is now the vanity area. We plan on tearing those shelves out and building his/her sinks, new cabinets, etc. BUT that will be way on down the road.
This is another one of those dark, not so good pictures. Sorry!

Blogger Problems

For some reason it is not letting me post pictures!! It will say they are posting and then when I click 'done' nothing comes up! Does anyone know how to fix this?

BEFORE: The Dining Room/Kitchen

The more I look at the pictures, the more I see that I am not a very good photographer. So, sorry all of them are so dark. Today we move on into the dining room and kitchen area. The entire area was covered in wallpaper/paneling. Taking down wallpaper is now my least favorite thing to do in the whole entire world. It was just so time-consuming and well just a pain in the rear. This first picture is my mother-in-law taking down wallpaper in the dining room.

This was the bar area looking into the kitchen.

This was looking over the bar into the kitchen. Blue countertops and a yellow stove.....lovely! More wallpaper in the kitchen.
This was all of the paneling being torn down in the dining room. (I think this part was a little too much fun for Justin)
We had now removed all of the wallpaper, textured the walls, and were getting ready to start painting.

Justin painting the dining room.
This picture didn't come out very good color-wise. The one above is more true to the exact color. (Notice the linoleum floors)

Onto the after pictures.............

AFTER: The Dining Room/Kitchen

Okay, so I am very upset with myself. I didn't take hardly any after pictures of these rooms! I have no idea why, but I didn't even take a single picture of the kitchen!! AAAHHH! I will take some tonight-sorry!

Okay, this is the new dining room (we were still cleaning up when I took the picture). The linoleum is now hardwood floors, the old chandelier is now a ceiling fan, the countertops are now beige, and all of the appliances are white.

I know these are basically the same picture, but the light was kind of weird in the first one.
This is one I found that shows the new sink/faucet and the new countertops being put on. (yes our dishwasher does have a bottom, it just wasn't on yet)

Okay, yes I know the "after" post was really poor. I will try to get some better pictures to post.

The AFTER

DON'T READ THIS YET!!! SCROLL DOWN AND READ THE NEXT POST FIRST (TITLED "THE HIDEOUS BEFORE"). FOR SOME REASON IT POSTED THEM IN THE WRONG ORDER!!

Okay, so here are the final pictures! We haven't hung the mantle yet because it was still drying from being stained, but trust me it is beautiful! The final product now has textured walls, new paint, new base boards, new trim, new carpet, new faux wood blinds and panel blinds, new hardwood entry in front of the sliding door, new outlets, new celing fan, new mantle, etc. Now do you see why it took us 3 months to move in!

The Hideous BEFORE

It's official.......WE HAVE MOVED IN!! We got the house on March 15 and now June 12 will be our first night to stay there!
The story behind this house was that it was truly a nice house in a nice neighborhood, but it had just not been taken care of over the years. We decided to go in and totally renovate the place. By totally, I mean EVERYTHING! So, after many tears, fights, and emotional break-downs......it is done!! I owe it all to my wonderful mother-in-law (who works harder than any man I know) and drove in from Dublin almost every weekend to help, my poor parents who had to put up with us living with them for 3 months (sorry about all of your missing Dr. Peppers dad), and my precious husband who really deserves a medal for doing all of this with a pregnant woman (I haven't been too sane throughout this process). We are very proud that we did it all ourselves and couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome. As promised, here are some before and after pictures. (I had to do separate posts due to so many pictures). Each day I will focus on one room.

Today we will focus on the living room.....

This was the lovely celing fan that was in the house......yes it does only have 2 blades!

The living room was covered in paneling, so we decided to tear that all down and then texture the walls. This was the tearing down process.

This is a good shot of all of the paneling. Notice there was no entry in front of the sliding door.

We had now replaced the ceiling fan, textured, ripped the carpet up, and put primer on all of the walls....getting ready to start painting!

The first coat of paint....
I didn't take many pictures of the "work in progress" because....well we were just tired and I didn't do it! So, now here are the after pictures!!

Craziness

Okay, so Friday I had my first official big pregnancy-induced-hormonal-emotional-breakdown! Yup that's right folks....hormones going crazy!! I was freaking out about anything and everything....so basically freaking out about nothing! I was bawling, sobbing, and biting Justin's head off. Just plain crazy! I guess I must of gone pretty balisitic because Justin sent these to me:

Isn't he sweet!! I guess he learned from our pregnancy with Brynn to not try and rationalize the situation. Just make ammends. So, when he got home Friday from work I was needing a break. A break from working on the house, a break from my parents house, a break from Brynn, just a BREAK! So, we had us a little date with dinner and a movie. Okay, you have to see The Break-Up ( http://www.thebreakupmovie.net ) with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. I absolutely loved it! It was the best romantic comedy I have seen since How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days . It felt so good to get dressed up with makeup! We just had such a wonderful evening together!

After all the fun it was back to working on the house. The carpet is being laid today and tomorrow, final touches this week, and then moving in this weekend!!!! I can't believe we are so close to being done.

I guess that wraps this up! Have a great day!
