My Little Houdini

This weekend was filled with remodeling and working at the new house as usual. We are very close to being finished so maybe we will soon no longer be homeless!!!! Here is my story of the weekend......

So, Monday morning (following 2 FULL days of work) we are laying in bed and at the bright and early time of 7:45 Brynn wakes up and starts to cry. I lay there thinking, "I hurt ALL over....I am going to wait until Justin gets up and tends to her." (yes I am that selfish) After about 10 minutes I am already back asleep in dream world and loving life. At about 9:30 my dad comes knocking on our door and says that Justin's mom has been trying to get ahold of us (remember we are shacking up at the parents casa right now). I am Is Justin still in bed? Brynn went back to sleep?? What the heck?!? LIFE IS GREAT!!! We get up and Justin decides to go ahead and get in the shower. I am thinking, after a blessing like that this morning, this is going to be a great day!! I tell him that since it is already 9:30 I am going to go wake up Brynn so we can start the day. So, I open the door to her room...........

Oh.........little Miss Brynn had NOT gone back to sleep. She had surely been awake since 7:45. I walk in to find her standing in the floor of a destroyed room playing with her baby doll. Needless to say I FREAKED out!! She had piled her blankets, etc. up in the corner of her bed and crawled out!!!!!! I can't believe that we didn't hear her! She had played in there for that long and not made one single peep! She had pulled everything out of her drawers, she had collected about 8 billion pacifiers from under the crib, and she knew the second she saw my face that she was in BIG trouble!! She grinned at me and said, "uh-oh." Justin just started laughing hysterically, but I was still a little scared from all the things that could have happened. Well, lesson learned and the crib is now MUCH lower!!

I took Brynn swimming yesterday and she had an absolute blast!! She loved to splash and kick everyone, but I loved it because she was fast asleep for the night at 7:45!! (doesn't that sound horrible)

Now for your viewing pleasure......a GREAT white trash picture of the prego lady in a bikini (Disclaimer: I don't have a maternity swimsuit yet and the pool was at my friend's house-not in public)

Now, here we are at 7 months!!! (actually next week will be seven months) I like to say 7 months a whole lot better than 27 weeks. It just sounds so much farther along. Yes, I know I look a little high in this picture. And yes, I know I need to get back out in that pool and get some sun!! Hope ya'll have a great day!

The Caca Story

Here is my story of the weekend.....

Okay, so Brynn went and stayed in Dublin with Justin's parents last weekend and ever since the night she got home we cannot get her to quit saying 'caca' (pronounced caw-caw; Spanish for poop). EVERYTHING is 'caca'!! If she is out of juice she hold her cup up and says, "caca." When she is talking to her baby, it is "caca this and caca that." I swear it comes out of her mouth a hundred times a day! We knew it didn't mean anything to her, and that she just liked the sound of the word. The problem is we could not for the life of us figure out where she had heard it from! Obviously Justin's family is not of the Hispanic race, so they do not say this word. Well, last night the mystery was solved.

My Nanny and Aunt Mary had bought Brynn a see-and-say for her birthday. It is a little mini one that has all the farm animals on it. (NOTE: Justin's parents have one just like it at their house). She brought it over to me last night and crawled up in my lap to play. So we would pull the little lever and she would repeat all the sounds (cow-'moo', dog-'arf-arf', etc). Then duck came around and as the duck went 'quack-quack' Brynn's whole face lit up and she started yelling, "caca, caca, caca." So there you have it, ducks are very intelligent-they know Spanish!!!

I have been inspired to be a better blogger (thanks Shauna). So, I will try to post more often (but I can almost promise they won't be all that creative). We bought this laundry tub for mom's house to keep all of Brynn's toys in so that they are out of the way. Well, once again the 'fun parent' (a.k.a. Daddy) found a new use for it. Toys do not go in the tub, Brynn does!! He puts her inside and covers the top with that large pillow and then says, "Where's Brynn?" and out she pops with a HUGE smile on her face!! Well, isn't he just he cool parent! Of course when I tried to get her to pick up her toys and put them in the tub, I became the mean parent! I guess I should get use to it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day. Justin's family will be here on Sunday to help on the house. I can't wait to have it finished so I can post before and after pictures. I will leave you with a picture of our garage with all of our things waiting to be moved in! Now if that isn't white trash, I don't know what is!!!!

I don't have any good stories to tell today so I will give ya some randome tidbits......

My parents surprised me with a VERY early Christmas present! They got me a new digital camera!!!! They really surprised me on this one. She was showing me "her new digital camera" and after a ooohed and aaahed over it and pouted because my mean husband wouldn't get me one she said........ "Merry Christmas!" It came complete with a carrying case and warranty!

We have taught Brynn that there's a "baby sissy" inside mommy's bellybutton. She loves to lift my shirt up and point to it and say "baby sissy." Well last night she was playing with Justin in the floor and his shirt came up a little bit and I wish I could have taken a picture of her face. She was so excited because he had a "baby sissy" too (a bellybutton)! Now she wants to lift everyone's shirt to point at their "baby sissy."

She has also become VERY attached to a baby doll. She loves on her, kisses on her, bathes with her, etc. Well, Justin has taught her this neat trick of flipping the baby over and spanking her whenever he say's "bad baby." I guess that is what daddy's are be the fun parent!

We have made much progress on the house and the tenative-official-love-in-weekend is Memorial Weekend!! We'll just see about all of that. Let's just say I will believe it when I am sleeping in my own bedroom.

Our cat is.....well let's say.....promiscuous and she is pregnant by......well we don't quite know who the "kitty-daddy" is. Aren't quite sure what we are going to do about that situation because I don't want kittens running all over my house.

I think that about wraps up our life right now! Have a wonderful evening and don't forget to watch "House" tonight!!!

The New Nursery

We have finally picked out the theme and colors for the new baby's room. For those of you who do not know, Brynn's nursery was ladybugs. I found a picture of her bedding, etc.

Brynn's crib is white with ladybugs painted on it and all of the furniture is white with ladybug knobs and her room will have one red accent wall-VERY cute (thanks to my mother-in-law because I have not one creative bone in my body). Okay, with that said......we picked out the new baby's theme and colors. It is going to be bumblebees! We are going to paint the walls pale yellow and her furniture will be oak. Here is the all the stuff my mother-in-law got us for the new nursery! Isn't it just too cute!!

I am just so excited I can hardly stand it! Maybe it is the anticipation of no longer being homeless and actually having privacy....who knows?!?! We still do not have an official 'move in date' so, we'll see!! Speaking of new do ya'll like the names Claire or Hannah? I have really gotten attached to Claire, but as always I have to convince Justin of it. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We are baby free which normally would be really cool, but we are just going to work on the house all weekend-YUCK! Have fun!!

Oh yes, this is what it looks like!! I somehow managed to crack the screen on my camera. At least I think that is what it is. You can't feel the crack but that is all the screen will show. I can still take pictures and download them, I just can't see anything on the screen. Justin is SO SO SO SO mad at me!! Does this mean I have to buy a new one, or is this fixable?!?!? HELP!! With remodeling the house, Justin says no buying a new camera until CHRISTMAS! I don't see that happening. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
