School Updates

Thought I would give you an update on how life is around here:

Brynn: LOVES, LOVES, LOVES school and everything about it.  She is friends with EVERYONE and we have even had a boyfriend for one whole day!  I can't believe how young that stuff starts!  She said there were even two kids that got caught kissing!  It's freaking kindergarten!  Wow....I am not ready for that.  We talked and decided that we would just be friends with people for a long time and boyfriends were gross.

Sadie:  She actually likes school but her favorite part is naptime.  She tells everyone this and that's all she talks about in the mornings.  She loves her teacher but still doesn't really talk to any of the kids in her class.  I asked if they talked to her and she said yes.  I asked what she said to them and she said, "I say don't talk to me I am not your friend."  So, we had a little discussion on manners and being nice.  I don't quite know if it sunk in so who knows.

Justin and I: We thought that we would absolutely KILL each other working together every day but it actually is quite awesome.  It is so comforting to know that there is one person there that has my back 100%.  We enjoy working together and now I can't imagine not seeing him all day!  It goes pretty smoothly and the day seems to fly by.  The store was settling down but then football season kicked off and we are selling sandwiches as fast as we can make them!!  Guess that's a good thing, but it is a lot of work.

First Day of School

Yesterday was the first day of school for my babies!  

Sadie started at Victory Life Academy in Preschool.

It took us awhile to convince her that she would love the uniform....but now she gets so excited to wear it!  I am sure that will change soon.  She wasn't too sure about the whole thing and when I asked her what she was most looking forward to, she replied, "Naptime."  Yeah....that pretty much sums up her outlook on the whole day.

Brynn started Kindergarten at Early Primary.  Excited does not begin to cover how ready she was.  She could hardly contain herself all morning.  

Sadie was the first one dropped off.  I was expecting a huge breakdown, but she was so excited that they had toys and quickly found the vacuum cleaner and hammer.  After that, life was good.

The teacher came over and put a nametag on her and she smiled and said, "thanks" but then turned to me and said, "I do not want this sticker on me."

I convinced her the sticker was okay and then we left with no problems whatsoever.

Next was Brynn.

Go Early Longhorns!!

She didn't shut up from Sadie's school all the way to her class.  She rambled on and on about how excited she was and all the neat things she was going to do.  

I on the other hand...began to not do so well.  We found her desk and got everything situated and then I began to tear up.  Luckily, the teacher had a little 'gift' for all of the parents that was a little bag of kleenex, candy, and a sweet poem she had wrote.  I looked at Justin and he was starting to not do so well, so we both basically ran out hardly even saying bye.  

This picture will forever be etched in my mind.

There is silence in my house right now....

It is 10:24am and I am still in my PJ's watching "The View."

No kids, no husband, no store, no shower!

I told Justin last week that while the kids were at my parents, I am taking one day completely off and I would not like his company on this fabulous day off!

The kids are coming back today and we will be celebrating Sadie's 4th birthday!!  I am smelling the chocolate cake in the oven right now and realizing how blessed I truly am.

The store is stressful....I work A LOT....I haven't gotten to see my kids as much as I would like....I get frustrated with employees often.....BUT I am blessed beyond measure!

Last night and the night before, Justin and I went fishing late at night.  Just sitting in the silence with him (silence was not my choice by the way) made me realize how blessed we really are.

So, I am going to go enjoy my fabulous day and will update with all the birthday pics later!!

Always, Sometimes, Never

read TMZ each day to catch up on the celebrity gossip (don't judge!)

listen to Kidd Kraddick in the morning....I am addicted to them!

open all of the blinds/curtains if I am home....I love a bright house

sleep with two pillows.....one for my head and one to hold against my chest

bite my nails....always have and always will.  I cannot quit!!! I wish I had pretty hands!

SOMETIMES

act like I don't see people in stores because I don't feel like talking .....rude I know

floss my teeth....I used to be so good about doing it everyday but I have slacked off...gross I know

wish I had another baby...but then my children act like demons and I quickly snap back to reality

eat breakfast....maybe once a week.  Other than that I just wait until lunch

drive the 15 miles home in silence...no radio...nothing.  I enjoy the thinking time.

NEVER

sleep on my back....who can do that?!?!  ugh..

drink coffee....I can't even stand the smell of it

get pedicures...I think I have had one maybe two in my entire life

sleep through the entire night....I wake up several times and lay there and think

miss a season of Real World/Road Rules challenge on MTV.....yes I realize I am 30

Justin

As I was sitting here tonight I began thinking...

Dangerous I know...

I just can't imagine NOT being married to my best friend.  Yeah, random I know.  I can't believe that we both honestly want to be around each other all the time.  Okay...well maybe not ALL the time.  

I just thank God for giving me a husband who is funny, caring, passionate, and my very best friend.  It's so comforting to know that no matter what comes or goes in our life, we are perfectly content being home together and doing nothing at all.  

And then I had to grab some photos because we all know that blogs are no fun without pictures.  

But I didn't want mushy, lovey pictures.  

Like the time he wanted to build our Yorkie a doghouse and it turned into this..

It was HUGE and we couldn't fit it in the backyard so we had to call our friend Ryan and Jacinta over to help us get it over the fence!  Awesome!!!

I really wanted that one to make the Christmas card.

Or the time that Justin promised the girls that if they ate good that the CFA cow would come visit after their bath.  So, while I am bathing the girls, Justin gets the costume out of my car, got dressed up, and entertained them in the living room.

Yeah, he's a pretty neat guy! 

 I just feel blessed to know that I have a partner for life that blesses me everyday with unconditional love.

Kleenex please!

I am finally on the homestretch of going through all the pictures.  Whew.....

It hit me yesterday that Brynn will be starting Kindergarten soon.  I still can vividly remember my first day of school and how I was so happy to wear my new dress and get my picture taken.  These days with Brynn make me wonder if these will be days she remembers thirty years from now.  

If not, I will happily remind her of how wonderful she makes my life.  

I pray that she walks into school on that first day and feels like she is "Queen of the World!"  Kids are mean and I pray that she feels secure and strong in who she is as a child of God.  She is perfect in his sight (and mine) and I hope she always has the confidence of a princess.

Okay, now that I have officially made myself cry....we will move on to other subjects.  Yes, I will probably digress back to my "first day of school emotional breakdown" for the next few weeks, so just bear with me people!!

Onto our friends out here.  These are the blasted turkeys that I referred to on Facebook.  They were blocking the road on my first day at the store and I couldn't get them to move!!  I saw them every morning for about a month and so I think of them as friends...not Thanksgiving.

And I don't think of deer meat at all when I think of these cuties!!

We were riding on the gator when we saw a little fawn and Justin said,

 "Look Brynn!  A baby deer!"  

Brynn says, "Is he still alive"

Dad: "Yes"

Brynn: "Then shoot him daddy!!"

Yeah......neat.

They grow up way too fast!!

Randomness

Trying to sort through over 300 pictures is a time consuming process!  I would love to tell all the fun stories of these pictures, but that would be a little much.  So, I will share the pics and you just tell yourself a really cute and funny story that goes along with it.

Brynn: 5 years old and READY to go to Kindergarten at Early Primary.  She wants a Hello Kitty backpack and lunch box (please let me know if you see one somewhere because I have yet to find one).

Sadie: 3 years old (4 on August 20) and not too sure about starting Preschool at Victory Life Academy.  She wants a Cars backpack.....wait....no...a Thomas the Train backpack......no....a Hello Kitty backpack......really she doesn't give a rip about the backpack-she would rather just play outside.

I hope that is enough randomness for ya!  I am going to go enjoy a lazy Sunday now!
